    (IANS)

Singer Kanye West has apologised to country singer Taylor Swift for barging on to the stage during Swift's award acceptance speech in MTV movie awards last year.

He was criticised when he said an award for Taylor should go to his pal singer Beyonce Knowles.

While apologising, West called himself a 'psycho' and wrote on microblogging site Twitter, 'Beyonce didn't need that. MTV didn't need that and Taylor and her family, friends and fans definitely didn't want or need that.'

    He added: 'I'm sorry Taylor.'

Dailystar.co.uk reports that singer Lily Allen tried to calm him down tweeting, 'It's really no big deal bro. One little mistake, massively blown out of proportion. You're being WAY too hard on yourself.'

West added: 'I am -responsible for those who love and represent me and what they have to deal with on a day to day defending The American Psycho.'
