    (IANS)

The Dubai Mall, world's largest shopping and entertainment destination, hosted a record five million visitors in the 15th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival Jan 28 to Feb 28, WAM news agency reported.

Emaar Malls Group, one of the sponsors of Dubai Shopping Festival 2010, reported positive results across its key retail properties, including Dubai Marina Mall, Souk Al Bahar and Gold and Diamond Park, with record sales during the month-long shopping and entertainment extravaganza.

For every 300 United Arab Emirates dirhams spent at the malls, shoppers received a voucher for the chance to win a luxury vacation to one of the world's fashion capitals: London, Milan, Tokyo and Paris, and a draw to win a Mercedes C-Class, the report said Tuesday.

Five lucky winners were awarded 'Fly from one fashion capital to another' in the last of the weekly draws held March 1. Each winner received a pair of return tickets to the fashion capital plus five-days/four nights accommodation near the fashion district.

An additional draw was held March 1 for the Mercedes C-Class by Al Ain Class Motors, which also showcased 11 of the world's most luxury cars at The Dubai Mall during the festival.

Nasser Rafi, CEO of Emaar Malls Group, said the 15th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival and The Dubai Mall's record visitors have set a new record-setting benchmark for retail, highlighting the role played by the festival in promoting tourism in Dubai.

The Dubai Mall has 1,200 retail outlets, including 160 food and beverage outlets.
